The duration of therapy sessions is 45 minutes. The session frequency depends on your child’s diagnosis and your goals for Occupational Therapy. Some children require weekly or bi-weekly (fortnightly) treatment to make the best progress, whereas others only need to see an Occupational Therapist once a month. Your therapist will work with you to determine what frequency best suits your child's needs, and adjust this over time.

Yes! Our therapists are happy to organise regular care team meetings with parents, educators and other allied health professionals. These meetings allow us to advocate for your child’s needs and ensure appropriate supports are in place to help your child flourish in all environments.

Yes! We find that remaining actively involved in the therapy process can help parents in feeling confident about implementing recommendations at home.

We ensure to take a strengths-based approach to therapy! We identify the child's own strengths, build on them and consciously incorporate them within our sessions to set your child up for success.

To ensure the best practice for therapy, all interventions are dependent on your child's therapy goals. Therefore, interventions may be in the form of a protocol OR they can also change each time to ensure we are adapting to your child's performance.

We understand that some areas of a child's development are outside of our scope of practice. In this case we can refer to other services which might include Speech Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Psychology.

Depending on your child’s diagnosis, it can take months to see progress. Your therapist is regularly reviewing your child’s goals and making modifications to the therapy plan where required. We encourage parents to raise any concerns with progress with their therapist, so that we can work collaboratively to determine the best course of action moving forward.
